Atukula Vadiyalu

A very tasty, unique recipe from my mother-in-law.


1 cup thick Atukulu (Poha/Rice Flakes)
2 cups grated Dosakaya.
1 tsp Jeera
1 tsp Inguva (hing) (yes! 1 tsp is correct)
6 Green Chillies
Salt to taste


1. Soak atukulu in water once and remove.
2. Mix wet atukulu with grated Dosakaya.
3. Grind jeera, inguva and green chillies, add salt to taste. (Spice level will decrease with drying).
4. Mix everything, make small dumplings(approx. 1 tbsp full), flatten them a little and set out to dry in the sun.
5. Once dry, fry them in oil (till golden brown) and enjoy!!!
