|tur dal 1cup(150gm)|
red chillies -4 or 5
hing 1 quarter of a teaspoon (optional)
turmeric half a tsp
|Fry all the ingridients one after the other over a slow flame in a dry pan.|
let it cool and grind and store in a container(good for a period of 3 months)
just boil 4 medium sized tomatoes and mash them.
Add 1spoon of this rasam powder,salt,tamarind as usual(2tsp of juice),garlic crushed,curryleaves,coriander,a bit of jaggery(optional-tastes good)and let it boil.
Then take a pan and add tsp of oil and heat, add mustard and jeera both together half a tsp and let them crackle and add them to rasam.
serve hot with rice.
